The standards that matter to us

When we ask customers to think about how a job went, we point them toward a few specific things rather than a general impression. Did the crew show up on time or communicate promptly if plans changed. Was the finished work actually clean, including the details like window tracks, gutter downspouts, or the edges of a driveway, not just the parts that are easy to see. Was the property left in the same or better condition than when we arrived, with nothing damaged and nothing left behind.

We would rather a customer judge us on these concrete points than on how friendly we were in conversation, because friendliness does not fix a streaky window or a missed section of siding. Good communication matters too, but it should go hand in hand with work that actually holds up.

We also encourage people to think about consistency rather than a single visit in isolation. A company that performs well once but cannot repeat that standard on a second or third job is a different story than one that delivers the same quality every time. Because we are still building our history across Central Alberta, we take every job as an opportunity to show that our standard holds up visit after visit, not just when we know we are being watched closely.

Freeze and thaw cycles through the winter
Hard water spotting and runoff staining
Prairie wind carrying dust and grit
Long summer sun baking residue onto surfaces
Siding, glass, concrete and eavestrough all affected

When a job does not meet the mark

Even with careful work, sometimes a job does not turn out the way a customer expected, whether that is a stain that did not fully lift or a spot that got missed. When that happens, the right response is to come back and address it, not to argue about whether the concern is valid. We would rather spend the extra time fixing something than have a customer left unhappy with work they paid for.

If you have had a job with us that did not meet your expectations, contact us directly first. Most issues can be resolved quickly with a follow-up visit, and we take that feedback seriously when it comes to how we train and prepare for future jobs.

We also use these situations as a chance to look at our own process, not just fix the immediate problem. If a particular type of surface or job consistently causes trouble, we would rather adjust how we approach it going forward than repeat the same mistake on someone else's property. That kind of internal accountability matters more to us than avoiding the conversation altogether.

What a good review actually tells you

A useful review for an exterior care company usually includes specific details: which service was performed, whether the crew was on time, how the property looked afterward, and whether any follow-up was needed. Vague reviews that only say a company was nice do not tell you much about the quality of the work itself. When you are researching any window cleaning or Christmas light company, look for reviews that describe the actual outcome on the property, not just the interaction.

It is also worth looking at how a company responds to reviews, especially less positive ones. A thoughtful, non-defensive response to a concern often says more about how a business operates than a long list of five star ratings with no detail behind them.

It also helps to notice whether a reviewer mentions communication and scheduling alongside the quality of the finished work, since both matter for a good overall experience. A crew that does excellent cleaning but shows up hours late without notice, or one that communicates well but leaves streaks behind, are both incomplete experiences. The most useful reviews cover the whole picture rather than just one part of it.

Unfortunately, fake reviews exist in almost every service industry, including exterior care.

Spotting reviews that are not genuine

Unfortunately, fake reviews exist in almost every service industry, including exterior care. Signs to watch for include a cluster of reviews posted within a very short time frame, reviews that use generic language without mentioning specific services or details, and profiles that have no other review history at all. A steady, gradual pattern of reviews over time that reference specific jobs and locations is generally a stronger signal than a sudden spike in five star ratings.

We would rather earn a smaller number of honest reviews over time than have a large number that do not reflect real work. If you are comparing companies, take the time to read a handful of reviews in detail rather than relying on the overall star average alone.

Another useful check is whether the review mentions details that only someone who actually had the work done would know, such as a specific neighbourhood, a particular surface type, or a scheduling detail. Reviews that could apply to literally any service business, with no specifics at all, are worth reading with a bit more skepticism than ones that clearly describe a real job.

    How to leave feedback

If you have recently had work done by OutWest Property Services, we would genuinely like to hear how it went, good or bad. You can leave feedback through Google, reply to any follow-up email or text we send after a job, or contact us directly by phone or email. If something needs fixing, tell us directly first so we have a chance to make it right before it becomes a public review.

We are a relatively young company still building our track record across Central Alberta, and every honest review, whether it points out something we did well or something we need to improve, helps us serve the next customer better.

We also welcome feedback even if you did not end up booking with us, for example if you found our quoting process unclear or slow to respond. That kind of input helps us improve how we operate before it ever becomes a pattern that affects paying customers, and we take it just as seriously as feedback tied to a completed job.
